About Me

Making ugly things beautiful again is my passion. Follow me as I thrift, DIY, and paint my way to a better home. I'm addicted to the transformation!

My little place holds countless memories, and while it may never measure up to the beauty others post, it's home. We've worked hard to get where we are. And God has blessed. This dresser turned entertainment center was the first major project I ever took on. It was once ugly and it was transformed into something beautiful and useful. And I'm addicted to the transformation.

My name is Crystal (duh). I'm married to my childhood sweetheart. We've been together since 11th grade. We have 2 boys. I grew up in poverty and worked 2 jobs in high school. I've had a job since I was 13. I kept a pic of a BMW in my locker to propel me on and to break the cycle of poverty. My grandparents helped me through college. I owe everything to them because they became my legal guardians at 15. They never gave up on me and brought Christ in my life.

I'm realizing now that I have my boys that the best and most worthwhile things in life can't be purchased.

It took us 5 years to get debt free. We owe nothing to nobody. We're saving for a house, so no major household purchases until then. Kind of a bummer for a blogger! Trust me, you'll want to stick around summer 2016!

Welcome to controlled chaos. Example: this pic. It was FREEZING and so very windy! That scarf had been wrapped around my head just so I could see to cut the stinkin' birthday cake! But my baby turned 4 and it was a fantastic day!
